Term	Definition
native	When pertaining to plants and animals, indigenous to an area; occurring naturally, not introduced by man.
Native Americans	The people who lived here before the first European settles arrived.
naturalized	Not native to an area; introduced and reproducing on its own.
nerve	A prominent vein or rib on a leaflet, glume or perigynium.
node	A joint on the stem where a leaf is attached.
