OWLET MOTH FAMILY (Erebidae)


Description
The Dark-banded Owlet has a wingspan of about one inch.  It is tan to gray overall.  The forewing has gray to grayish brown bands.

Occurrence
This moth is common in Fontenelle Forest and Neale Woods and can be seen from April through August.

Comments
Food source is dried or wilted leaves.  Flies during the day.
