LEAF MINER FLY SP.

Leaf Miner Flies (Agromyzidae) are very small flies, usually black or sometimes yellowish and range in size from .9 mm to 6 mm.  There are approximately 640 species in 19 genera in North America and about 3,000 species in 43 genera worldwide.  Species identification is generally made easier by studying the “leaf mines” of the larvae.
