LIVERWORTS

MARCHANTIA LIVERWORT

CONOCEPHALUM LIVERWORT

LOPHOCOLEA LIVERWORT

SLENDER RICCIA

Liverworts fall into two groups. The thalloid form grows along the ground in ribbons, often branching in a symmetrical "Y" shape. We have found two species of this form so far. The Leafy liverworts are smaller, and resemble mosses, with small leaves on branches. We found one of these types of liverwort in Fontenelle Forest so far.
