TEXAS GRAY MOTH

Description
The Texas Gray Moth has a wingspan of approximately 5/8 inch to 3/4 inch. The wings are gray with fine black lines, with the post median line being the sharpest. Both wings have warm brown shading in the subterminal area. This moth was identified by volunteer experts at the BugGuide website.
Occurrence
The frequency of occurrence of this moth is not known. The individual in Photo A was seen on 8/15/15 at the nature center. The individual in Photo B was photographed in late September coming to artificial lights at Camp Brewster, Fontenelle Forest.
Comments
There is very little known about the habits of this moth. The foodplants of the larvae are unknown.
