Oxidus gracillis

This millipede, as all millipedes, has many pairs of legs, is over an inch long. It is an introduced species and It is usually found feeding underground. The two millipedes in image "C" are seen mating. This species was identified with the help of images and discussion available on BugGuide.

Seldom seen, but assumed to be common underground at both nature centers. This one was seen just off the floodplain boardwalk at Fontenelle Forest, along with some sow bugs.
