About

NatureSearch is a portal to all living things recently observed within the Fontenelle Forest and Neale Woods Nature Centers, both located within the greater metropolitan area of Omaha, Nebraska.

By clicking through a few images on this site, you can reach information about a species, including when and where you might see it. All photographs were taken by volunteer naturalists of Fontenelle Nature Association within the boundaries of our two nature centers.

Founded in 1913, Fontenelle Nature Association is one of Nebraska’s oldest conservation organizations and one of the largest private nature centers in the U.S. Its 2,000 acres of forest, prairie, waterways and wetlands along the Missouri River provide premier flora and fauna viewing opportunities during every season.

We invite you to visit our nature centers throughout the year. The dynamic, natural settings hold incredible outdoor experiences for every visitor. You can explore 26 miles of maintained trails, a one-mile Riverview Boardwalk, indoor educational exhibits and fami ly-friendly play areas.
